This is module 1 of a 6-week summer course in Sociolinguistics. Prof. Jack Kenisberg designed it as an asynchronous course with an optional weekly synchronous meeting. In this module, students are required to:

• think about ideas discussed this week by leaving a comment on a VoiceThread
• complete reading and video-viewing tasks in 2 folders
• participate in a discussion activity by posting and responding to their classmates
• submit a proposed topic for a paper that they will be writing
